Indoor allergy season is on the way this fall, & Quik-Dry Inc. is here to help you with some tips on removing fall allergy triggers from your home.
Allergies are different, depending on the season, & for some of us it seems like it never ends! The good news is, there are some simple steps we can take to avoid fall allergies to invade our home!
Always take off shoes when entering the house
Think about it, anything you step on outside will be transferred to the carpet. So leave shoes at the door.
Keep windows closed when allergies are high While the cool breeze may feel nice, it's also letting allergens into the home. So make sure windows & doors stay closed.
Wash linens regularly
Your sheets may seem harmless, but they’re probably covered with pollen & other allergens that crept in on your clothes. Wash your bed linens at least once a week. In addition, vacuum your duvet or comforter as well.
Dust with a damp cloth
Use a damp cloth instead of a duster. This will help capture the dust & allergens instead of spreading them into the air.
Replace air filters regularly
Clogged air filters can cause extensive damage to your system, but they also cannot remove pollen & dust from your home unless they are working properly.
Vacuum at least once a week, more often if you have pets
Whether you have wall-to-wall carpeting, or just area rugs, it's important to remove the dust, dirt & allergens on a regular basis by vacuuming.
Bathe pets at least once a week
Our fur babies can also carry around a lot of allergens in their fur. Be sure to bathe them often, & remember to wash their bedding too!
Clean carpets professionally at least once a year
Research shows that properly cleaned & maintained carpet increases indoor air quality for your home. Your carpet is actually the biggest air filter in your home, so it's very important to get it cleaned on a regular basis. Regular cleanings from a professional carpet cleaner such as Quik-Dry Inc. can help rid your carpets of dirt and allergens, keeping your home cleaner & healthier for you & your family.
